  • Parish Council News

Repps with Bastwick Parish Council held a meeting on 7th July 2015 which was also attended by Borough Councillors Mary and Barry Coleman. BCllr Mary Coleman congratulated the Parish Council on their election in May. PC Cook sent a report stating there had been one crime of note over the past two months in Repps with Bastwick. This was a theft of heating oil, complete with tank. There had been nine other calls to the police with no emerging issues.

No planning applications had been received. Prior to the meeting, the Parish Council had attended an informal meeting with John Lambert and Trevor Burton from Anglian Water about the proposed sewerage system for the village. They will attend a parish council meeting later in the year, then a full public meeting to discuss the sewage project. Work is being planned to begin at the end of 2016. In the meantime, contact details will be on the parish council website and a booklet about the scheme will be available in due course for residents.

It was noted that there is a problem with overgrown verges and hedges restricting the view of drivers and the use of footpaths by pedestrians. The clerk has reported these to the borough council. The next parish council meeting will be held on 8th September 2015.

The clerk is producing the next Village Newsletter. If you run a group or activities in the village and would like them included in the Newsletter and on the website, please contact the clerk. The website is up and running and I hope parishioners will find it useful. You can log on at: https://reppscumbastwickpc.norfolkparishes.gov.uk/ and see full minutes of Parish Council meetings, agendas, village events and information.

Recycling – please use the textile and glass recycling banks in the Village Hall car park. The parish council receives a fee for the tonnage of both which is used to support village services and amenities.

Clerk: Sarah Welsh 07808704960 [email protected]

Full minutes will be posted under ‘Minutes’.
