Delays likely on A149 High Road, Repps with Bastwick for carriageway resurfacing

Work will begin on Wednesday 9 January to carry out major carriageway resurfacing works on A149 High Road, Repps with Bastwick. The work will take two weeks to complete subject to suitable weather conditions.

The site will extend from Potter Heigham river bridge southwards to the B1152 junction.

During the resurfacing works all traffic will be controlled using temporary traffic signals with a convoy system working normal working hours 9 am to 5 pm. The junction with The Causeway will be closed whilst works are completed to this section of road. A fully signed local diversion will be in place for this element of the works

Vehicle access to businesses and properties within the limits of the works will be maintained.

The County Council would like to thank people for their patience while these works to replace the existing damaged road surface are carried out.

The work which will cost £235,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community & Environmental Services Department and their contractors.

Funding for this scheme is from the extra £12.694m Norfolk County Council has received from the Government to spend on road maintenance in 2018/19. This money is Norfolk’s share of the £420m made available to local authorities in England, that was announced in the Budget on 29 October 2018.
