A group of residents from Repps-cum-Bastwick gathered to witness Cllrs. Mary and Barry Coleman fix a plaque to the new bench located on the A149 at the junction with Tower Road. The bench had been purchased from the councillors’ ward budgets to replace the previous, dilapidated seat. It is a very well used facility and is the third bench in this spot, the original, as the plaque states, being donated by the parishioners in May 1935 to commemorate the Jubilee of King George V. The land on which it stands was presented to the parish at the time by Julius Starling Esq. 2015 is considered a suitable year in which to remember the history of the village, by replacing the seat, and honour Queen Elizabeth II
