The Parish Council is responsible for:

• Giving views on planning applications and other proposals affecting the parish. The Council is a consultee on local planning activities and is not a decision maker.
• Alerting relevant authorities to problems or necessary work.
• Helping other tiers of local government connect with their communities.
• Making decisions on behalf of the people in the parish.
• Overall responsibility for the well-being of the local community.
• Exercising a general consultative role.
• Holding meetings and appointing necessary officers.
• Making standing orders for the supply of goods and services.

The Council has it’s full quota of seven parish councillors who are summoned to attend 11 meetings throughout the year. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month except for August.

There has to be at least 3 council members in attendance at a meeting for it to be quorate. If there are insufficient councillors at a meeting it is unable to go ahead and no decisions can be made. Fortunately the meetings are well attended by the Councillors and to be non-quorate is a very unlikely situation.
